Hi Everyone,
I hope you are well.
What a week! I can't believe how quickly it has passed. We have been so busy.
We planted Swiss chard, celery, broccoli and kale, and this week I need to
plant beetroot and cabbage.
And we have been harvesting the carobs. So far we have picked about 750
kilos, and have plenty more to pick up.
I also made a trip to Aljezur to pick up more of the vegan cheeses. They have
been really popular.
We've also been preparing a jars of 'Melanzane and Peperoni Grigliate' - grilled
aubergines and peppers from the garden, stored in organic olive oil with herbs.
We often have more than we can sell at this time of year - so its a good way to
avoid chucking them on the compost. We eat them continuously here - with
bread, as a pasta sauce, or with couscous. They will be on the list this week but
supplies may be limited.
Great to see the first rains have arrived. I did the rounds this morning and storm
damage was thankfully limited to a broken cucumber trellis and a broken shade
in the chicken run which left the girls a bit wet. But they are all dry now.
Thanks once more for your support and orders.
Have a great week and I look forward to seeing you all soon.
Lots of love,
Peter
